POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves minimal supervision and requires the individual to independently conduct and report all laboratory test analyses based on physician directives. Compliance with laboratory protocols and regulations such as FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO is essential to ensure the highest quality of patient care. The tests performed are crucial for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, encompassing specimen processing, test execution, and result maintenance. Some procedures may be intricate and necessitate professional judgment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a related scientific discipline is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Technologist from ASCP or an equivalent body is required.
  • For those certified post-2004, current ASCP Certification Maintenance is necessary. New graduates may have a six-month period post-hire to obtain certification to maintain their position; all other candidates must possess certification prior to hiring and provide verification as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one year of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
