POSITION SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, the individual is accountable for independently conducting and documenting all test analyses as per physician directives, adhering to laboratory policies and regulations including FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO, to ensure optimal quality of patient care. The tests performed are critical for the diagnosis and management of diseases, encompassing specimen processing, execution of tests, and maintenance of test results. Certain procedures may be intricate and necessitate professional judgment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a related scientific discipline is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist from ASCP or an equivalent body is required.
  • For those certified post-2004, ASCP Certification Maintenance must be up to date. New graduates may have a grace period of six (6) months to secure certification upon hiring to maintain their position; all other candidates must present certification prior to hiring and provide necessary verification as stipulated.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
