Purpose:


The Philanthropy Relationship Manager is responsible for fostering enduring connections with current and potential donors, financial advisors, and the broader community, ensuring that philanthropic goals align with the charitable initiatives offered by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify, nurture, solicit, and manage a diverse portfolio of prospects, donors, and professional advisors to enhance their engagement with CFSC.

2. Strategically plan, execute, and continuously improve meetings, events, services, programs, and offerings that actively involve donors in their philanthropic endeavors and their relationship with CFSC.

3. Represent CFSC at various social and community events, both on-site and off-site, including those that may occur outside of standard business hours.

4. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, institutions, and associations.

5. Oversee portfolio management for donor-advised and other funds as assigned, assisting donors in achieving their charitable aspirations while generating additional contributions and referrals.

6. Utilize the Foundation's software (FIMS) to document and manage relationships, develop donor profiles, and analyze donor interests and giving trends.

7. Prepare and deliver presentations for prospective donors and financial advisors, leveraging available expertise and data from internal resources.

8. Engage in cross-departmental collaboration to ensure optimal support for donors.
9. Act as the CFSC liaison to Giving Circles, as necessary.

Position Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, although a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.

5 years of experience in planned giving or related roles in development and/or marketing is preferred.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible, solution-oriented mindset are essential.
Excellent public speaking abilities are required.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary to maintain positive relationships through active listening.

A general understanding of investments and the financial services sector is beneficial, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to donors and prospects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is expected.
Experience with foundation-specific software or other database systems is advantageous.
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and network issues independently is a plus.
