Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance for Global Supply Chain Operations, this role in Product Strategy will be integral to a prominent Global Operations team, collaborating closely with Senior Management, Product Development, and other key leadership functions. The primary responsibilities of this position will encompass, but are not limited to, contributing to the new product development cycle, managing SKU lifecycles, supporting both short-term and long-term business forecasts, and generating product P&L reports. Regular ad hoc analyses to facilitate new product introductions and business case evaluations will also be essential. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of financial principles, advanced financial modeling skills, and a proactive approach to driving positive organizational change while mentoring one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive life-cycle management of a diverse, complex product portfolio, including grills and grilling accessories.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, R&D, and Commercial teams from a financial standpoint to launch new products by developing business cases and financial models for a sustainable product development pipeline.
  • Serve as a financial partner to Product Management and General Management leaders to enhance the understanding and analysis of financial principles, business trends, and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Engage actively in the long-term strategic planning process to formulate an optimal new product pipeline based on anticipated ROI, while identifying and recommending process enhancements.
  • Evaluate financial outcomes, trends, and metrics related to the product portfolio, working alongside Product Management to drive performance and results.
  • Assess the market performance of new products against business case economics, communicating key variances, impacts, and drivers to Senior Management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the Research & Development budget, including analyzing and reporting monthly results, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure targets are met, while collaborating with the R&D lead on budget and forecasts.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and participate in special cross-functional initiatives as required.
  • Supervise a Financial Analyst on a rotational basis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting and credible relationships.
  • Proven capability to translate financial data into actionable insights for informed business decisions, tailoring messages to suit the audience.
  • Demonstrated analytical proficiency, with the ability to identify issues, reach consensus on resolutions, and implement changes effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong service orientation and willingness to undertake responsibilities beyond the job description.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with consolidation tools is advantageous, and familiarity with SAP is preferred.
  • Expertise in business analytics and financial modeling.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP reporting standards and regulations.
