A Shift Leader plays a crucial role in assisting the General Manager with the daily operations of the restaurant. This position is responsible for overseeing the restaurant's activities in the absence of the General Manager. The Shift Leader is expected to embody the Wingstop culture and inspire fellow team members through creativity, hard work, and a commitment to the brand's success. Every team member is essential in representing Wingstop's mission to Serve the World Flavor.
Team Leadership: Assist the General Manager in efficiently staffing the restaurant with a carefully selected team. Ensure a safe environment for both team members and guests while fostering a culture of respect, recognition, and reward. Collaborate effectively with the Wingstop team and demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Provide constructive feedback and support to team members, and be willing to assist in various roles as needed.
Customer Engagement: Maintain a friendly and positive demeanor when interacting with guests. Ensure timely greetings (within 3-5 seconds) and strive to create a lasting positive impression of the Wingstop experience. Handle all orders and inquiries with professionalism and friendliness, ensuring high-quality service and products. Promptly inform the General Manager of any guest concerns and resolve minor issues with efficiency and a positive attitude.
Financial Oversight: Manage cash flow, property, products, and equipment effectively while driving sales and controlling labor and food costs.
Operational Excellence: Uphold operational standards and requirements within the restaurant. Identify and communicate maintenance needs to the Facilities Department, ensuring compliance with Wingstop's company standards. Utilize company resources to mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing restaurant team. Ensure all risk management issues adhere to company policies.
Essential qualities include a genuine desire to serve guests, a calm demeanor in challenging situations, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous learning. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for hospitality. Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
