Position Overview
The Electrical Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the functionality and upkeep of power generation facilities. This position may involve occasional travel to support various operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Operations Supervisor, your duties will include:
- Managing daily operations and maintenance of power generation facilities.
- Supervising and guiding a diverse team of production and maintenance personnel to ensure optimal and safe performance of generating units.
- Facilitating effective employee relations in alignment with company policies and applicable labor agreements.
- Monitoring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, as well as maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of special projects.
- Responding to emergency situations and troubleshooting system issues as needed.
- Collaborating with external vendors and contractors.
- Overseeing planning and scheduling activities for the plant site.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 5-7 years of experience in power generation facilities.
- Proficiency in using Maximo for work planning, purchase requests, and job planning.
- Experience with WST, the preferred scheduling tool.
- Background in operations and maintenance, particularly with control operations on drum boiler units.
- Technical expertise in Instrumentation and Control is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with computer maintenance management systems, particularly PMMS and/or Maximo.
Performance Metrics
Key performance indicators for this role include:
- Safety adherence (both personnel and processes).
- Environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Operational performance of generating units.
- Budget management to ensure effective financial oversight.
