Position Overview:

Deliver strategic guidance and oversight to team members to ensure client expectations are fulfilled while achieving our organizational goals and objectives.

Uphold a professional demeanor while facilitating solutions that enable the fulfillment of all contractual commitments. Establish and nurture a partnership with the client's logistics coordinator to promote operational consistency.

This role may be tailored to a specific client or a collective of clients with analogous requirements.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 6:00PM; must be adaptable to work weekends or evenings as necessary to support operational needs.

Supporting: 120 Drivers

Required Experience:
Background in transportation, exceptional communication skills, results-driven, meticulous attention to detail, proven leadership capabilities.

Compensation:
$110,000-$125,000 annually with eligibility for bonuses up to 30% of base salary.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Ensure that all supervisors comprehend how their roles align with the clients' business objectives, conduct interviews and hire all personnel up to the supervisor level.
Facilitate exit interviews as necessary, foster engagement by expressing pride in the team when goals are achieved, and acknowledge and reward team members for their contributions. Cultivate the development of direct reports through training and succession planning.

Operational Excellence:

  • Engage daily with our local client to ensure we grasp existing and emerging client needs, leverage the team to identify operational enhancements in areas such as route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls, trailer loading, inventory accuracy, and warehouse operations. Collaborate with other company locations to share best practices and optimize resources.

Financial Management:

  • Formulate and implement the annual financial and operational strategy, manage the operation with integrity to meet or exceed business plan targets, identify issues with operational metrics and P&L, and respond accordingly. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of client billings and employee payroll, validate payables and intercompany charges, and ensure all activities are accurately reflected in the P&L.

Safety Standards:

  • Monitor and enhance accident frequency, ensure each team member understands their individual responsibilities, as well as the group's roles required to maintain a safe workplace, proactively identify and rectify unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies and company policies.

Growth and Customer Experience:

  • Implement a process to track and document value delivered to the client, identify and capitalize on profitable business opportunities, and utilize available metrics to monitor and maximize client efficiencies while achieving cost savings.

Fleet and Asset Management:

  • Monitor and enhance fleet/equipment utilization and fuel efficiency, contribute to equipment specifications at the time of startup and renewal, and build strong working relationships with local district and other equipment vendors.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
-5+ years of relevant logistics and supply chain experience required.

  • At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is a fundamental function of the role.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete the employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening is required.
