Position: BAS/Automation Controls Technician - Licensed Installer

Overview: The BAS/Automation Controls Technician is tasked with facilitating the installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS). This role includes the mounting of control devices, low voltage wiring, terminations, system initiation, testing, and troubleshooting. A valid CT E2 or L6 License is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan installations to optimize material usage, ensure accessibility for future maintenance, and comply with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduits.
  • Pull wiring through conduits and ensure proper labeling.
  • Install concealed wiring prior to the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Locate, mount, and terminate BAS end devices such as temperature sensors, relays, and electronic actuators.
  • Assist in job commissioning, start-up procedures, and provide training to owners as needed.
  • Create sketches to document the as-built locations of wiring and equipment.
  • Participate in project meetings as required.
  • Be available for overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
  • Coordinate with other trades on the job site.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a CT E2, L6, or S2 License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with a certificate from a college or technical school, and 2-5 years of relevant experience or training.
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate occupational license (if applicable).
  • Ability to work overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, percentages, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, kneel, twist, stand, and use stairs and ladders.
