The Advertising Strategist plays a crucial role in enhancing our media initiatives through comprehensive data analysis and effective negotiations with media partners. This position involves crafting and implementing strategic advertising campaigns while adhering to budget constraints and optimizing overall performance, campaign effectiveness, and profitability. The Advertising Strategist will manage a portfolio of accounts, fostering growth in our advertising efforts through research, networking, negotiation, and experimentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate pricing to maximize profitability, including preparing necessary correspondence for negotiations and maintaining relationships with external representatives and agencies.
  • Monitor the profitability and effectiveness of current advertising schedules, assessing ad performance prior to future campaigns to inform buying decisions (rates, placements, creative, etc.).
  • Coordinate advertising timelines and draft advertising contracts for assigned accounts using our proprietary advertising database.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to address creative requirements for advertising, including reviewing materials before public release.
  • Notify management of any account or media-related issues that could impact overall profitability, both in the short and long term.
  • Maintain the marketing database and track advertising performance metrics.
  • Explore and test new media avenues that yield profitable returns on investment.
  • Initiate and implement strategies for enhancing production and operational systems within the department.
  • Oversee the management of all advertising contracts, insertion orders, vendor relationships, and review and approve all invoices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Advertising or Media.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the media landscape, particularly in direct-response advertising, with experience in areas such as television, online, and print.
  • Previous experience collaborating directly with advertising network contacts.
  • Proficiency with Google Campaign Manager (CM360).

Physical Requirements: The role involves regular communication and the use of hands for manipulating objects or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, with occasional bending or reaching above shoulder height. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be necessary. This position typically involves extended periods of computer-based work, requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel may be required.
