Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer/Lead Industrial Engineering Specialist to join our diverse and skilled team.


The Industrial Engineering Team plays a crucial role in daily operations, frequently collaborating with various departments.

This cohesive team is dedicated to learning, teamwork, and overcoming challenges in a dynamic setting. We are in search of candidates who thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute meaningfully.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze lead times, queue durations, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to effectively meet customer demands.

2. Develop scalable and sustainable models to enhance product flow while considering cost, schedule, and resource limitations.

3. Create optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP systems with actionable plans under varying capacity constraints.

4. Account for complex interdependencies within systems to address interactions among multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.

5. Communicate requirements planning and systems frameworks with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.

6. Collaborate with developers to design an interactive user interface that efficiently schedules jobs across cost centers.

7. Lead digital transformation initiatives in alignment with sector and enterprise strategies.

8. Drive positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.

9. Establish new metrics and data visualizations to monitor performance on the shop floor.

Basic Qualifications for Senior Industrial Engineer:


- Bachelor's Degree with 2 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis; OR a Master's Degree with 0 or more years of relevant experience.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and flexibility to secure Program access.

- Experience with MRP/MES systems.

- Proficient in Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.

- Familiarity with data mining, analysis, or visualization software applications.

- Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications for Lead Industrial Engineering Specialist:


- Bachelor's Degree with 4 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis; OR a Master's Degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and flexibility to secure Program access.

- Experience with MRP/MES systems.

- Proficient in Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.

- Familiarity with data mining, analysis, or visualization software applications.

- Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing context.

- Background in the aerospace sector.

- Preferred STEM Degree.

- Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance granted/renewed within the last 5 years.

- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.

- Proficiency in SQL, Python, HTML, VBA, JavaScript, or other programming languages.

- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and enhancing manufacturing workflows through optimization, modeling, or simulation techniques.

- Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations.

- Experience using Microsoft Project, including schedule creation with predecessors and resources.

- Knowledge of agile project management or development methods.

- Strong experience in designing visualizations using Tableau in a professional setting.

Salary Range:
$79,300 - $118,900

Salary Range 2:
$97,500 - $146,300


The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company success. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Furthermore, Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
