Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineer (Level 2) / Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to join our diverse and skilled team.
The Industrial Engineering division plays a crucial role in daily operations, collaborating with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze lead times, queue durations, work-in-progress, cycle times, and throughput to effectively meet customer requirements.
2. Develop scalable and sustainable models to enhance product flow while considering cost, schedule, and resource limitations.
3. Create optimized scheduling tools and synchronize SAP/MRP systems with actionable plans under varying capacity constraints.
4. Account for complex interdependencies within systems to address interactions among multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.
5. Communicate requirements and system frameworks with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
6. Collaborate with developers to design an interactive user interface that efficiently schedules jobs across cost centers.
7. Lead and facilitate positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
8. Develop new metrics and data visualizations to track shop floor performance.

This position may be filled as either an Industrial Engineer or a Principal Industrial Engineer based on the qualifications outlined below.Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 2):
- Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis; OR a Master's degree with no prior experience in these fields.
- Capability to work on an assembly floor.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, including Special Program Access as required by the company.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3):
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis; OR a Master's degree with 3 or more years of experience; OR a PhD with no prior experience in these fields.
- Capability to work on an assembly floor.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, including Special Program Access as required by the company.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or related STEM disciplines.
- Experience with Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in data analysis and report programming (SQL, MS Access, Business Objects, PowerBI, or Tableau).
- Active DoD clearance.
Salary Range:
$79,300 - $118,900
Salary Range 2:
$97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
