Your Key Responsibilities
The Senior Structural Engineer will operate autonomously on small to medium-sized projects and lead larger projects, overseeing the work of Structural Engineers. Key responsibilities include:
  • Independently conducting calculations and producing drawings for small to medium projects.
  • Developing project-specific discipline specifications for less complex assignments.
  • Guiding junior engineers through intricate projects.
  • Collaborating with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Executing Construction Administration tasks, including field observation reports, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assessing contractor change orders.
  • Performing calculations using both company-standard and proprietary software.
  • Effectively communicating design challenges and solutions with the design team and clients.
  • Understanding industry-standard design processes and construction methodologies.
  • Delivering projects within defined scope, budget, and design parameters while ensuring high client service levels.
  • Fostering existing client relationships.
  • Assisting in the development of design standards.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Comprehensive knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and relevant building regulations.
  • Strong understanding of structural systems, seismic design, construction methodologies, materials, and industry benchmarks.
  • Ability to articulate concepts and ideas clearly to a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Proficient in reviewing the work of others for accuracy and completeness while managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of engaging in creative and critical thinking within a project team environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is mandatory; a Master's degree is preferred.
A Professional Engineering license is required; a Structural Engineering license is preferred.
Proficiency in modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Revit) and general business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Experience with industry-standard Structural Engineering software (e.g., CSI, RISA, RAM) is also required.
