Role Summary

IMC MetalsAmerica is in search of a skilled staff accountant to assist the Plant Controller in various financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain the general ledger by accurately recording daily financial transactions, including both accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• Ensure account balances are accurate and perform bank reconciliations regularly.

• Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.

• Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and reports.

• Aid in the preparation of regulatory filings and returns.

• Engage in various ad hoc accounting projects, such as budgeting and forecasting.

• Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in compliance with company policies and controls.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• A minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of:
  • General ledger management, chart of accounts, debits, and credits
  • Accounts payable processes
  • Accounts receivable functions
  • Accrual accounting for assets and liabilities
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Inventory management experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent bookkeeping certification
Skills:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Highly organized, dependable, and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing time effectively, meeting deadlines, and resolving discrepancies.

• Eager to learn and grow within the accounting field.

• Proficient in:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including data arrays, pivot tables, and lookup formulas
  • Accounting and bookkeeping software
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Netsuite
