Environmental Health Specialist

Greenheck Group is a leading manufacturer of commercial HVAC products, committed to environmental consciousness and growth. We are seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to join our team, responsible for supporting the EHS department's continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training materials and continuous improvement of the EHS portion for new hire onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with the EHS team Risk Analyst on continuous improvement support for EHS Software Solution integrations, training, and future module development.
  • Stay informed of relevant safety and environmental law or regulation changes.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns, and assist in informing plant managers and supervisors of opportunities to influence safe behaviors.
  • Collaborate with team members on loss drivers and assist in supporting functions targeting controlling and containing BU-associated costs.
  • Support safety team efforts by effectively collaborating with the regional EHS Manager to engage shop team members in leading indicator measures for reducing risk.
  • Function as the EHS single point of contact for Greenheck Group team members, contractors, and vendors at several facilities within a select region, with minimal oversight.
  • Help investigate incidents and ensure CAPAs are completed to minimize future exposures and proper records/documents are maintained.
  • May assist with confidential matters pertaining to air, water, waste, and other environmental data collection and sustainability needs.
  • Help with regulatory agency matters related to OSHA, etc., and assist with revisions of Greenheck Group EHS policies, procedures, and practices as requested.
  • At the direction of an EHS Manager, support plant managers and leadership to ensure required facility inspections comply with Environmental regulations.
  • Function as a backup with local, state, and Federal agencies, understanding when compliance matters need escalation by appropriately engaging involved parties at the right time.
  • May help manage administrative functions of onsite hazardous waste inspections, inventory, disposal, and recordkeeping.
Requirements:
  • 2-year/Associate degree in EH&S, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Business, or related field of study, or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • 4-year/Bachelor's degree in EH&S, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Business, or related field of study preferred.
  • 4-6 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or similar, with exposure to Safety, Health, and regulatory agency matters required.
  • Advanced computer skills in typing, Outlook Email, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various Cloud-based applications required.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity while handling matters of confidentiality related to varying insurance program matters, laws, regulations, finances, and private health information in relation to HIPAA, OSHA, etc., required.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
  • OHST, ARM, RN, or CSP license/designation/certification preferred.
