Project Manager Opportunity at Company XYZ

Company XYZ is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee capital projects in the Greater Savannah area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in downstream manufacturing to lead projects and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects following the company's stage-gated process, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal standards.
  • Create detailed project plans outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project advancements and make necessary adjustments to achieve set objectives.
  • Utilize Gantt charts to track project timelines and interdependencies effectively.
  • Deliver regular updates and presentations to senior management regarding project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Promote communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Compile comprehensive project reports for both internal and external use.
  • Oversee project profitability, striving for timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Manage project costs and allocate resources efficiently to enhance financial outcomes.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures while upholding project quality and goals.
  • Ensure proper management and accessibility of all project documentation as per company guidelines.
  • Maintain adherence to regulatory and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of project management experience in chemical manufacturing or a related sector.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project.
  • Experience using SAP for project tracking and financial management.
  • Demonstrate expertise in creating and managing Gantt charts.
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Having a PMP certification or equivalent would be advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations within the chemical industry.
