About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planning and Design to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our planning and design function, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development of construction plans, interior design, and landscape architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning, programming, and design efforts for construction projects, including capital and non-capital construction planning, interior design, and landscape architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, operations managers, architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement contract strategies, and partner to develop, maintain, and update Emory's design and construction standards.
  • Provide guidance to staff, ensuring that projects are executed by focusing on cost effectiveness, quality, safety, code compliance, schedule, and Emory Healthcare's planning, design, and construction procedures.
  • Identify potential risks and obstacles to project success and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions, resolve issues, and achieve project objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, urban planning, engineering, space planning, or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in a related field, including five years in healthcare.
  • Five years of demonstrated coordination and leadership of teams.
