Position Overview

The Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant plays a crucial role in the daily operations and management of the assigned loan pipeline. Acting as the primary contact in the absence of the lender, this position collaborates closely with processing, closing, and underwriting teams to ensure timely loan closures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational excellence and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Possess knowledge of portfolio lending and secondary market guidelines.
  • Facilitate the entry and completion of client applications.
  • Oversee pipeline management and conduct quality control checks.
  • Ensure compliance of the residential lending portfolio with all relevant regulations, including Dodd-Frank, HMDA, RESPA, and others.
  • Monitor the mortgage pipeline for timeliness and quality.
  • Prepare and distribute disclosures to clients.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with clients.
  • Manage phone calls and emails directed to the assigned lender(s).
  • Provide daily support to meet timelines, exceed service standards, prioritize workloads, and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a customer-first attitude in all interactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan documentation, processing, closing, and regulatory compliance.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is recommended but not mandatory.
  • Proficient computer skills and command of the English language.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and maintain focus.
  • Attention to detail, along with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to changing regulations and team collaboration.
  • Ability to learn quickly and handle stress while adhering to company policies.
