Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Center Representative to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients referred between employed and aligned physicians are scheduled to receive services in their assigned location and are financially cleared prior to their scheduled appointment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and healthcare knowledge to manage primary care and specialty care scheduling processes.
  • Interact with new and established patients, providing them with information needed to schedule and register multiple services for the Physician Organization.
  • Triage calls for the Patient Access Center, providing patients with information needed to prepare for appointment per Center/Service protocol.
  • Enroll patients on the Patient Portal and provide PIN numbers, complying with HIPAA regulations.
  • Work directly with physicians, office staff, and patients to ensure best practices within the department.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Three years of experience in a healthcare setting, call center, or customer service operations.
  • Healthcare setting knowledge and experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - Satisfactory program completion and clinical licensure.
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse - State Licensure - Satisfactory program completion and clinical licensure.
