Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Medix. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for managing patient access, obtaining and verifying patient information, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computerized scheduling, registration, and verification systems to manage patient access.
  • Obtain and verify patient information to meet clinical and financial requirements.
  • Triage and redirect calls for the Patient Access Center, adhering to provided scripts and guidelines.
  • Provide patients with the necessary information to prepare for their appointments.
  • Maintain and meet performance standards such as handling calls within a 6-minute range and adhering to break and shift schedules.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with a focus on quality over quantity.
  • Support patients and healthcare staff with professional communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Contact center experience, particularly in healthcare.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients over the phone.
  • EMR system experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, onsite.

Compensation:

  • $18-$19/hour.

Location:

  • Fully onsite in Katy, Texas.
