Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:
Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls from patients and staff, and forward calls requiring triage to the appropriate team member.
- Perform receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience for patients and visitors.
- Verify health insurance payment information and educate patients on applicable regulations, collect payments, and record data accurately.
- Perform data entry of service charges, including the assignment of diagnostic codes and the entering of all physician and clinic-related charges.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
