Job Summary

HDR is seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Lead to join our Dam and Civil Works program in Southern California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex geotechnical engineering analysis and design of water management structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering analysis and design of water management structures
  • Develop and implement geotechnical design solutions for dams, levees, and other critical structures
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and hydraulic engineering
  • Provide project management and mentoring to a team of engineers and analysts
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in geotechnical engineering software and tools
Requirements
  • Master of Science or higher in Engineering (Geotechnical/Geologic engineering) or equivalent level of experience
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in advanced engineering projects involving water management, structural, geotechnical, and hydraulic disciplines
  • Proficient knowledge of dam safety engineering and risk assessment tools and techniques
  • Experience with geotechnical engineering software and static and dynamic analyses for concrete dams, embankments, and hydraulic structures
