Position Overview

Join our team in operating a pharmaceutical packaging line. Responsibilities include operating packaging machinery and maintaining thorough documentation of all activities. A collaborative spirit and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that handles controlled substances. Additional compensation may be available for those working in specialized areas.

Working Hours: Day shift, with potential for overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation:
- Maintain precise records including timecards and batch documentation.

Equipment Operation:
- Operate various packaging equipment such as PLC-controlled lines and pouch sealers.
- Ensure cleanliness of production equipment and work areas.
- Set up and disassemble packaging machinery as needed.
- Utilize material handling equipment effectively.

Compliance:
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safety protocols.

Safety:
- Implement safety measures including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Understand and apply Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Decision-Making:
- Recognize when to escalate issues and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Identify non-compliant materials and halt processes when necessary.

Process Knowledge:
- Familiarity with production flow and staging for supplies.
- Understand key terminology related to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.

Communication:
- Effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
- Foster teamwork through appropriate communication techniques.

Computer Skills:
- Proficient in basic computer tasks.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 6-12 months of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures.
  • Basic math skills for process calculations.
  • Understanding of mechanical skills and experience with hand tools.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical school certification or 1-2 years of college education.
  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with vision systems and robotic fillers.
  • Proficient in using Windows-based applications.
Physical Requirements

Special Facility Considerations:
This role involves working with controlled substances and requires specific safety measures including secondary gowning and the use of Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR). Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Employ proper lifting techniques.
  • Regularly lift 20-40 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to cleaning agents.
  • Potential exposure to product dust and noise.
  • Variations in temperature.
  • Work at heights up to 25 ft.
