Job Summary

The Duke Office of Physician-Scientist Development (OPSD) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Program Coordinator to provide operational and programmatic oversight of research education and training initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects, managing research education and training projects, and overseeing junior faculty awards and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate high-level projects and programs, including summer research experiences for undergraduates and medical students, post-baccalaureate projects, and junior faculty awards and programs.
  • Manage research education and training projects, including application processes, review committee operations, and award notifications.
  • Coordinate Concierge Career Mentoring Program, including pairing scholars with master mentors, staff mentorship meetings, and tracking outcomes.
  • Oversee and/or assist with the development and organization of poster sessions, lectures, and quarterly meetings.
  • Schedule meetings, including faculty Steering Committee sessions, and track deliverables and benchmarks.
  • Manage procurement card clearing, check requests, and processing of reimbursements.
  • Regular communication with stakeholders both inside and outside of Duke.
  • Track metrics and evaluate outcomes of research education and training programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three years of experience in program administration or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students, faculty, and/or higher education experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn, Qualtrics and REDCap.
  • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
