Your MissionAs a Senior Software Engineer at Census, you will collaborate closely with the founders and the engineering team to design and scale a robust data platform capable of handling billions of records.
Our team consists of experienced engineers with backgrounds from top-tier companies like Amazon, Google, and Dropbox, along with substantial startup experience, including six former YC founders.

Your Responsibilities- Contribute to various components of our technology stack, which includes Rails, Typescript, Vue, Heroku, and AWS.
- Collaborate with our product team to conceptualize and implement new features.
- Help shape our early culture and contribute to building a unique team environment.
- Participate actively in our sprint process, which includes bi-weekly sprint planning and daily virtual stand-ups.
- Maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing to the development of an exceptional product in a supportive culture.
- Familiarize yourself with our team terminology, such as 'do nothing', 'done done', and 'ponies'.
- Possesses the ability to build solutions from start to finish. Our engineers are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining their code.
- Is skilled in data and backend systems while also comfortable working with UI components.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or has equivalent experience.
- Thrives in dynamic environments where direct customer interaction and impactful decision-making are essential.
Salary range: $180,000 - $230,000
