Your Mission

As a Senior Software Engineer at Census, you will collaborate closely with the founders and the engineering team to design and scale a robust data platform capable of handling billions of records.

Our team consists of experienced engineers with backgrounds from top-tier companies like Amazon, Google, and Dropbox, along with substantial startup experience, including six former YC founders.

Your Responsibilities
  • Contribute to various components of our technology stack, which includes Rails, Typescript, Vue, Heroku, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with our product team to conceptualize and implement new features.
  • Help shape our early culture and contribute to building a unique team environment.
  • Participate actively in our sprint process, which includes bi-weekly sprint planning and daily virtual stand-ups.
  • Maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing to the development of an exceptional product in a supportive culture.
  • Familiarize yourself with our team terminology, such as 'do nothing', 'done done', and 'ponies'.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Possesses the ability to build solutions from start to finish. Our engineers are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining their code.
  • Is skilled in data and backend systems while also comfortable working with UI components.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or has equivalent experience.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments where direct customer interaction and impactful decision-making are essential.
Compensation

Salary range: $180,000 - $230,000
