Department: Health Information Management (HIM) Coding

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: 40 per week

Position Overview: The role involves conducting audits and overseeing professional coding services. This position acts as a crucial link between regulatory bodies and coding professionals, ensuring adherence to coding standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide education to coding staff and physicians on compliant selection of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, as well as documentation standards.
  • Regularly perform quality audits on internal coding personnel to pinpoint educational needs aligned with correct coding practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Associate's degree in a relevant healthcare or business field is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) status.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) in good standing.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a similar capacity is required; 5 years is preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and collections processes.
  • Experience with Epic software is advantageous.
