Position Summary

The Air Force STEM organization is in search of a dedicated and skilled Facilities Operations Expert to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing operations, property management, and construction oversight within our Engineering Services and Operations Support sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute a range of tasks that necessitate expertise in facilities operations management principles and methodologies to fulfill mission objectives.
  • Act as a representative for Air Force STEM at various conferences, providing insights on the current and future landscape of facilities management, operational strategies, design, and construction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with different divisions and external entities to synchronize and manage technical projects, producing essential documentation such as briefings and reports.
  • Serve as a Facilities Operations Expert, engaging with multiple stakeholders, including military and civilian organizations.
  • Function as a subject matter authority to ensure adherence to relevant policies and regulations.
  • Oversee HVAC systems, including controls and sensors, ensuring effective troubleshooting and communication with team members and partners.
  • Offer strategic guidance and recommendations to leadership, addressing findings from audits and inspections.
  • Manage the development and upkeep of the organization’s Real Property systems and strategies.
  • Compile and coordinate information packets as requested by higher headquarters or other organizations.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with standards.
  • Represent Air Force STEM in initiatives aimed at enhancing facilities, infrastructure, and property management processes.

Position Details
This role is classified at the DO-II level and is based at a designated Air Force location. It may be offered as a term appointment with potential for permanent placement.

Telework and Remote Work
This position allows for telework opportunities based on agency policy, but remote work outside the designated area is not permitted.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in DAF Laboratory Facilities Programs.
  • Prior military service is advantageous.
  • Experience in operations management is preferred.
  • Background in facility design and construction is desirable.
  • Possession of a Siemens/Niagara Controls certification is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
