Position Overview:
This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days of onsite presence each week, with Thursdays designated for departmental meetings.
The Tax Reporting Analyst II plays a crucial role in the preparation of comprehensive tax submissions for federal, state, and local income and non-income tax returns, ensuring compliance with the applicable laws governing all CareSource entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the compilation of the organization’s income tax documentation and submissions, including but not limited to Form 990, Form 1120, and Form 1065.
- Support the preparation of the company’s income tax provision, unrelated income tax provision, contingency reserves, valuation allowances, and ASC 740-10; aid in identifying, documenting, and monitoring uncertain tax positions as per ASC guidelines.
- Contribute to the drafting of the tax footnote for annual audited financial statements and assist with federal and state income tax and MAR audits.
- Facilitate compliance with Form 1095 and Form 1099 requirements.
- Manage the preparation and reconciliation of Unclaimed Property reports and submissions.
- Coordinate with the Accounting Department to prepare monthly sales tax accruals and reconciliations, and ensure timely filing and payment of monthly sales and use tax returns.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency of tax department operations.
- Conduct training and informational sessions for other departments within the organization.
- Calculate and remit Ohio CAT tax, tangible personal property tax, and other miscellaneous tax obligations.
- Research relevant tax legislation, regulations, and guidelines, documenting findings to support informed decision-making.
- Assist leadership with all income and non-income federal/state notices and audits.
- Support the tax department and leadership with additional tasks as required.
- Evaluate internal controls and recommend necessary changes to ensure compliance with MAR, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in tax and/or accounting, preferably in public accounting or a similar environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Capability to set, prioritize, and achieve goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity.
- Familiarity with various accounting and tax principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
Certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred and may account for one (1) year of related experience.
Work Environment:
- Standard office setting; may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Compensation:
$60,000 - $96,500. CareSource considers a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience, along with the complexity and scope of the position, when determining salary levels.
