About the Role

As a Patient Access Specialist with CommonSpirit Health, you will play a vital role in representing our organization during initial phone contact with patients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide patients with appointments, information, and other operational support services. You will also be expected to provide a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our organization's mission, goals, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent CommonSpirit Health during initial phone contact with patients, providing appointments, information, and operational support services.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate information.
  • Utilize scheduling parameters, insurance concepts, and patient registration software to efficiently schedule appointments and answer patient inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our organization's system, providers, and services to effectively communicate with patients.
  • Meet and exceed service components, ensuring that patient needs are met and exceeded.
  • Handle emergent calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with a team-based environment, demonstrating a positive attitude and flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
Requirements
  • 6 months of experience in office, call center, customer service, or healthcare environment.
  • Proven excellent customer service, communication, verbal, and written skills, with an emphasis on organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Previous call center, healthcare, or customer service experience is preferred.
