Position Overview:
As a key member of the UW Medicine IT Services team, the Healthcare Applications Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the Radiology Support Services. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and its application in the healthcare sector.

This role operates in a hybrid model, combining both remote and on-site work in Seattle, WA, ensuring flexibility while meeting the needs of our healthcare partners.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Requirement Analysis:**
- Assess and interpret customer business and technical needs, providing tailored solutions.

2. **System Development:**
- Design, construct, test, and deploy enhancements to applications, ensuring alignment with functional specifications.

3. **Support and Maintenance:**
- Deliver ongoing production support, including troubleshooting, system upkeep, and user training.

4. **Project Management:**
- Oversee projects and documentation processes to effectively meet customer requirements.

UW Medicine IT Services is a collaborative entity that supports the diverse needs of the UW Medicine network, which includes multiple medical centers and clinics.

Primary Duties:
- Engage in proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting to uphold established service standards.
- Collaborate with user groups to provide diagnostic support and resolve inquiries.
- Maintain internal tracking of issues, adhering to established policies.
- Identify opportunities for application improvements through thorough analysis.
- Ensure timely delivery of IT services through careful analysis and application of technology.
- Prioritize tasks effectively, reporting progress to supervisors.
- Participate in application testing, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
- Develop new workflows or features to enhance data collection.
- Coordinate requests for system information and manage trouble reports efficiently.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare or IT.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and their maintenance.
- Strong customer service orientation with a proven track record of meeting client expectations.
- Experience in gathering and defining customer requirements.
- Knowledge of database structures and project management methodologies.
- Ability to assist users in navigating systems, preferably in a healthcare context.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License required for transporting equipment.
