About this Role

We are in search of our inaugural VP of Strategy & Business Operations to tackle some of our most critical business challenges and operate at the nexus of strategy, finance, product, and operations. This individual will be tasked with constructing and overseeing financial projections, steering annual and quarterly planning, optimizing resource allocation, and collaborating across teams to lead strategic initiatives that advance the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, robust business insight, and the ability to navigate complex challenges while effectively collaborating to bring projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive business planning framework across all departments, enhancing all aspects of financial forecasting, including annual budgeting and long-term planning. Serve as a vital thought partner to all business leaders, proactively identifying methods to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead select strategic initiatives aimed at refining processes and increasing organizational efficiency, particularly in operations.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for business operations, ensuring systems and processes function seamlessly to achieve high-quality outcomes and consistency in performance.
  • Act as our controller, managing our relationship with our outsourced accounting firm. This includes coordinating the delivery of all accounting and financial reports, reviewing incoming invoices, and ensuring compliance with specific company policies.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel to oversee various compliance aspects, ensuring adherence to state, federal, and international regulations.
  • Work alongside functional leaders (sales, marketing, product) to identify, promote, and support cross-company strategic programs that significantly enhance Kira's market position and operational effectiveness.

Experience & Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy & operations, private equity investment banking, venture capital, or management consulting. Comfort in fast-paced environments and adeptness at managing ambiguity are essential. Experience in compliance management is a plus.
