About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems Engineer to join our team at Great Dane. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our PLM environment and supporting our user community.

Key Responsibilities
  • PLM Environment Management: Assist with the maintenance of the PLM environment, ensuring the integrity of the data contained therein.
  • User Support: Provide technical assistance to users, ensuring they have the necessary tools and information to perform their tasks efficiently.
  • Industry Trends and IT Enhancements: Stay current with industry trends and information technology enhancements to ensure our Engineering environment and practices continue to evolve.
  • Configuration and Deployment: Manage the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of CAD/PLM applications and processes.
  • Interface Architecture and Design: Develop interface architecture, design, and configure applications based on business requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • User Needs Analysis: Analyze user needs to determine engineering and product data requirements, CAD and PLM functional requirements, process, and data modeling to meet user needs.
  • System Queries and Utilities: Develop system queries and utilities to support users' information searches.
  • PLM Tools Development: Develop, plan, coordinate, and execute PLM tools that meet established requirements.
  • System Change Test Plans: Develop system change test plans to ensure seamless integration of new systems.
  • CAD/PLM System Changes: Coordinate and implement CAD/PLM system changes, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Technical Content and Training: Define and document technical content and guide the development of training for CAD and PLM Applications, new functionalities, and upgrades.
  • Specialized Technical Assistance: Provide specialized technical assistance on a daily basis, ensuring users have the necessary support to perform their tasks efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Actively work to improve daily processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Systems Integrity: Ensure systems integrity and manage all product configuration data and information throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Product Definition Data Integrity: Responsible for the integrity of product definition data.
  • Application Security: Ensure proper application security policies are in place.
  • System Support and Enhancement: Work with IT to provide system support and enhancement development.
  • Data Consumption Standards: Work with various business units to support data consumption standards and manufacturing trials.
  • Engineering Data Management: Develop and deploy systems, methodologies, standards, and processes that result in the ability to manage Engineering data for efficient and effective consumption.
  • Technical Advances: Work across multiple functional departments to research, develop, and deploy technical advances in information technology mapped to business processes.
  • PLM Technology Developments: Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of PLM technology developments to recommend innovations that improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of Great Dane products and processes.
  • Problem Recognition and Resolution: Recognize discrepancies and/or problems with analysis, process mapping, or system implementation results and work toward corrective action.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT-related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the trailer or related industry.
  • Skills: Business process mapping and project management skills, ability to apply industry best practices, strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills, self-motivated, independent analytical thinking, and ability to execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Desirable Skills: General understanding of engineering/manufacturing data requirements and design tools, functional knowledge of design engineering/manufacturing applications and processes, functional knowledge of SQL and relational databases, experience with CAD, PDM, and licensing tools (CATIA, SmarTeam, SolidWorks, and Aris Innovator), working understanding of PCs and Windows OS, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, familiarity with Visual Basic and general programming.
  • Travel: Occasional travel is required to provide onsite support and/or meetings.
