The Global Trade Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in steering, facilitating, coordinating, monitoring, and optimizing our company's international business operations. Key responsibilities encompass ensuring adherence to international trade laws, actively participating in the formulation of market strategies, and offering expert advice on import and export processes. In this essential position, you will significantly contribute to our organization’s ability to navigate the complexities of global commerce and broaden its footprint in international markets.

The role necessitates close collaboration with government entities, external advisory firms, and trade organizations to remain informed about regulatory shifts and industry developments. With a focus on a global presence and a vast installation base, the incumbent will spearhead the international trade compliance strategy for our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Management of Free Trade Agreements (30%):
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant FTAs for the company's trade routes.
  • Maximize opportunities for duty-free trade.
  • Regularly assess FTA compliance across the organization’s portfolio.
  • Assist the sourcing team with recommendations for enhanced procurement strategies.
Import Clearance and Harmonized Code Management (25%):
  • Overall accountability for the company’s Harmonized Codes.
  • Maintain an accurate database of all items eligible for shipment.
  • Investigate alternative classifications to minimize duties.
  • Monitor and audit entries to ensure precise customs clearance.
  • Guarantee compliance with all trade regulations (licenses, shipping documents, registrations, etc.).
Duties Drawback Oversight (10%):
  • Globally oversee duties drawback processes.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden the scope of duties drawback and decrease third-party fees.
Export Control Management (10%):
  • Review and maintain the Export Control database.
  • Support Export Control approvals.
Entries Value Reconciliation (10%):
  • Assist in the annual reconciliation of customs entries.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers and the finance team to submit adjusted values.
Knowledge Point of Contact (15%):
  • Foster strong relationships with governmental agencies, trade advisory firms, and carriers.
  • Stay informed about changes and trends in international trade, documenting findings in the company’s internal database.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and partners to ensure comprehension of international trade regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a global organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in advisory firms.
  • Experience with customs and governmental audits.
