Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Project Manager to join our team at the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and coordinating assigned programs, projects, or contracts, and reviewing contractor quality performance for the repair, maintenance, or overhaul of ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies and action plans that involve other departments and various levels of Command personnel.
  • Develop goals and objectives that are assigned to subordinates based on priorities and considering the experience required and the capabilities of the assigned employees.
  • Plan and schedule work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution of work within the branch.
  • Establish metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.
  • Resolve and make decisions on work problems and recommended actions presented by subordinates.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers.
  • Develop, modify and/or interpret performance standards, explain performance expectations to employees and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
  • Advise all stakeholders on project status through periodic production meetings, status reports, and the customer feedback loop.
  • Review contractors' work schedules, manning reports, material ordering/receipt schedules, and special tasking/equipment requirements.
  • Identify and initiate action to correct, prevent, and minimize delays, resolving all problems that affect quality schedule and contractor performance.
Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, executing, and coordinating assigned programs, projects, or contracts and reviewing contractor quality performance for the repair, maintenance, or overhaul of ships.
