Job Summary

As a Supervisory Nuclear Engineer in the Nuclear Test Engineering Division of the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, you will serve as the primary contact between the shipyard and outside activities on technical matters. You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of reactor plant work, identifying problems, and providing direction to appropriate Shipyard managers.

Responsibilities
  • Act as primary contact between the shipyard and outside activities on technical matters.
  • Monitor performance of reactor plant work, identify problems, and provide direction to appropriate Shipyard managers.
  • Provide first-line supervision for nuclear engineers and technicians assigned to the branch.
  • Promote and facilitate continuous learning and employee development.
  • Train, mentor, or assign dedicated, experienced mentors, to junior engineers and direct their development in becoming fully qualified.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to coordinate work across all stakeholders and discuss how work will be accomplished.
Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer providing leadership and technical direction for nuclear engineering projects in support of the repair, maintenance, overhaul, or testing, of nuclear-powered ships or submarines.
