Position Summary: This role involves the meticulous sorting, washing, and drying of linens while adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Segregate, sort, and weigh soiled linens in preparation for processing.
  • Load washer-extractors with soiled textiles, selecting appropriate wash formulas and cycles.
  • Unload washer-extractors and prepare clean linens for drying and folding.
  • Load dryers with clean linens, choosing suitable cycles and durations.
  • Unload dryers and prepare clean linens for pressing and folding.
  • Accurately document soiled linen weights on washman logs.
  • Transfer processed linens to storage for delivery and distribution.
  • Monitor washer-extractors for operational integrity and report any malfunctions.
  • Ensure proper functioning of laundry chemical dispensers and maintain chemical flow.
  • Maintain lint traps and trough screens to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assist in training new staff members.
  • Perform daily and project cleaning tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Complete other duties as required.

Position Requirements:
