Job Summary

Augsburg University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Admissions Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our admissions staff, you will be responsible for conducting personalized student engagement throughout the enrollment decision-making journey. Your primary focus will be on developing deeper student coaching relationships, informed and measured by data analytics and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Student Engagement: Embrace and maintain knowledge of the University's messaging and positioning to authentically articulate the Augsburg student experience. Conduct recruitment, yield, and anti-melt activities throughout the entire enrollment cycle.
  • Evaluate Admission Applications: Carefully review and assess admission applications to ensure a thorough understanding of each student's qualifications and potential fit for Augsburg University.
  • Recruitment Events: Help plan, organize, and execute engaging on-campus and off-campus recruiting events to showcase the University's programs and services.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Utilize CRM databases to manage communications, follow up, and track capacity accountability.
  • Student Success Coaching: Serve as a student success coaching role for prospective students as part of Augsburg Applies to You program.
Administrative Tasks
  • Recruitment Territory Management: Develop and manage a recruitment territory of inquiries and admitted students for each cycle.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze recruitment data to determine travel and communication plans.
  • Strategic Priority: Responsibility for an assigned area of strategic priority or initiative utilizing the objective and key results framework (OKR).
Additional Responsibilities
  • Cross-Functional Teams: Serve on cross-functional teams that impact the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Professional Development: Successfully complete Augsburg Diversity Certificate program and Edify DEIB Posture statement.
  • Communication: Attend regular staff meetings and trainings, stay informed of institutional changes, and share trends with the wider team.
  • Recruitment Strategies: Provide input on recruitment strategies, including the Augsburg Applies 2U/Power of US initiatives.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Flexible Schedule: Flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
  • Typical Work Environment: Typical work environment is an office. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
  • Travel: Travel to events, including talking and presenting.
  • Computer and Phone Use: Regular computer and phone use.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Emotional intelligence may be needed to effectively relate to and work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
