Job Title: Senior Buyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our purchasing team at QuidelOrtho Corporation. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for procuring direct materials, indirect materials, finish goods, capital equipment, and services to support our internal production and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase materials based on Min/Max reports, MRP, and business acumen
  • Maintain purchased material inventory between Min and Max levels
  • Negotiate costs of materials, inbound freight, and maintain purchase contract terms and conditions
  • Support R&D and new product development through team collaboration
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, exercising ethical negotiation and communication techniques
  • Monitor supplier performance and take appropriate action to manage suppliers
  • Provide E&O assessment of assigned components
  • Carry out duties in compliance with GMPs, established corporate policies & procedures, and FDA/ISO regulations pertaining to the purchasing function
  • Support supplier audits related to assigned product/supplier and travel as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement in progressively responsible positions in a highly regulated/analytical manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Familiar with federal and other regulations, e.g., QSR's, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification: ISM, APICS CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM; or NAPM CPM
  • Experience in key performance indicators, process optimization, and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and inventory management principles
  • Advanced negotiation and contract writing skills

This is a full-time position based out of our Carlsbad location in San Diego, CA, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite). The salary range for this position is $79,000 to $134,000 and is bonus eligible.
