Job Summary:

The Patient Access Specialist will serve as a liaison between patients, payers, and healthcare team members, facilitating patient tracking and billing. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including EMTALA, DNV, and HIPAA
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as required
  • Maximize collection efficiency and accuracy
  • Scan and maintain medical records
  • Assist with patient transfers and respond to medical record requests
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of various insurance plans and payors
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
