Position Overview:
The Cargo Operations Agent plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service at the counter, managing essential data entry tasks, and overseeing the documentation for international shipments. This position involves coordinating both import and export paperwork, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and facilitating the release of international freight. Additionally, the agent is responsible for collecting air freight charges, preparing necessary manifests, and handling phone inquiries in a professional manner. The role also includes accepting hazardous materials and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service at the service counter
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Manage international cargo documentation
- Coordinate import and export paperwork
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations when accepting cargo
- Facilitate the release of international freight
- Collect applicable air freight charges
- Prepare and maintain accurate manifests
- Handle phone communications professionally
- Accept and process dangerous goods shipments
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate computer skills
- Strong English communication abilities
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment
- Detail-oriented with the physical capability to lift 50-70 lbs
- Commitment to safety practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year in a Cargo Agent role
- Possession of a valid US driver's license
- Completion of the airport badging process and drug screening is required
Work Schedule:
AGI Cargo, LLC requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate operational needs. Adherence to attendance policies is vital for this role.
Compensation:
Salary range is $22.60/hr - $25.23/hr.
