Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled C5 Test Specialist to join our team at Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. as a C5ISR Integration and Testing Professional. This role will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration and testing of C5ISR systems on the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the C5ISR I&T Lead, C5 Integration and Testing Manager, and production team to develop and execute a comprehensive test plan for C5ISR systems.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure all tests and validations are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the production team during the installation, checkout, and testing of C5ISR systems.
  • Assist in the development of test reports, including land-based, shipboard operational, dock trials, builders sea trials, and Navy INSURV acceptance trials.
  • Work with the production team to identify and resolve technical issues and defects during testing and validation.
  • Support the C5 Integration and Testing Manager in coordinating with engineering and project management to ensure that the shipyard testing strategy is being followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the C5 Integration and Testing Manager.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one to two years of experience in shipboard testing, reviewing test procedures, performing test validation, verifying pre-requisites, and documentation into deliverable test reports.
  • One to three years of experience in commercial or government contracts.
  • Civilian or military experience in the C5ISR field will also be considered.
  • Experience developing test procedures using ABS NVR highly desired.
  • Must possess troubleshooting skills and experience.
  • Must be able to quickly understand basic system operation, and integration with C5ISR systems.
  • Must be able to understand troubleshooting procedures and provide solutions.
  • Experience with integration of a test program into Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), starting with design through fabrication, construction, and delivery preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience.
  • Working knowledge of various web-based design and collaboration tools desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, tech manuals, and other documents to understand the operational requirements of systems and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements, specifications, and drawings into a comprehensive test program.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively present information, brief presentations, and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to forge and sustain outstanding client-relationships while managing multiple work streams.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the project team while exercising diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.

This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions.
