Job Overview
As a Tire Service Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tire-related services, including repairs, replacements, balancing, rotations, and TPMS procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess repair requests and conduct visual inspections of vehicles to identify tire service needs and required materials.
- Execute tire replacements and minor maintenance tasks.
- Install valve stems and tire-pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) as necessary. Mount tires onto wheel assemblies and inflate them as needed.
- Conduct tests on tire balances to ensure correct weight distribution.
- Perform brief road tests to verify proper installation.
- Discuss services with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Adhere to the company's Quality Control Program, Safety Policies, and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training, or at least 6 months of experience as a tire technician.
- Basic understanding of tire and automotive service processes and procedures. Familiarity with automotive servicing software is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of tire and lubrication specifications.
- Experience with Mitchell Repair and All-Data systems.
- Understanding of tire requirements, including the use of wheel balancers, tire specifications, and some diagnostic experience.
Certifications
- SEMA certification is preferred.
- TIA Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Level 200, with Levels 300 or 400 being advantageous.
