Senior Case Reviewer

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Case Reviewer to join our team in the Department of Social Services Accountability Office (DSS-AO). As a Senior Case Reviewer, you will be responsible for conducting legally mandated case reviews to ensure compliance with lawsuit stipulations, settlements, and agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct case reviews of applications for cash assistance, Medicaid, and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to measure timeliness of expedited SNAP requests, appropriate responses to no food and non-food emergencies, and correct employability assessments.
  • Observe on-site application and recertification interviews at Family Independence Administration (FIA) locations citywide to measure quality of service and accuracy of actions taken.
  • Review case file information, POS entries, and WMS data to report on the appropriateness of cash assistance case activities and accuracy of system-generated output.
  • Participate in meetings with center and regional management to discuss audit findings and facilitate corrective action plans.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
