Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Case Reviewer to join our team. As a Senior Case Reviewer, you will be responsible for conducting legally mandated case reviews to comply with lawsuit stipulations, settlements, and agreements. You will also be responsible for compiling findings into reports that are presented to Family Independence Administration Operations (FIA/OJ) for their review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct case reviews of applications for cash assistance, Medicaid, and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and cases recertified for ongoing assistance to measure timeliness of expedited SNAP requests, appropriate responses to no-food and non-food emergencies, appropriate handling of reasonable accommodation requests, correct employability assessment, correct determination of benefits, valid notification of eligibility, timely referrals for various social services.
  • Observe on-site application and recertification interviews at FIA locations citywide to measure quality of service and accuracy of actions taken, professional demeanor of interviewer, correctness of information relayed during customer interaction, and determine whether appropriate action was taken.
  • Review case file information, POS entries, and WMS data to report on the appropriateness of cash assistance case activities and accuracy of system-generated output.
  • Participate in meetings with center and regional management to discuss audit findings for each model office and job center audit conducted and facilitates corrective action plans.

Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above.
