Job Summary

The Social Media Specialist is a part-time hourly position at Utah State University's School of Graduate Studies (SGS). This role works closely with the SGS Marketing Director to achieve marketing, recruitment, and administrative objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Social Media Strategies: Create and implement effective social media strategies, including content, marketing, and engagement strategies.
  • Content Creation: Generate high-quality written and visual content that informs, educates, and resonates with our target audiences.
  • Platform Management: Manage, develop, and optimize SGS social media accounts and build its presence across various platforms.
  • Campaigns: Develop and manage paid and unpaid campaigns across social media channels, webpages, and newsletters.
  • Analytics and Performance Reports: Proactively monitor social media metrics, define and track key performance indicators, and provide regular reports and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships with university organizations and programs to increase SGS student reach and impact across social media platforms.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Help brainstorm, plan, and execute events for both retention and recruitment purposes.
  • Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the SGS Marketing Director.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of social media best practices.
    • Photography and videography skills.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Keen attention to detail.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Email marketing experience.
    • Event management experience.
    • Survey research and data management.
    • Experience reaching audiences via online platforms.

Working Conditions

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
