Position Overview

The Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patients to achieve optimal independence in their daily activities. This position involves executing both direct and indirect nursing tasks and technical procedures in line with established hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering Nursing Care:
    • Administers essential nursing services to designated patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
    • Provides personal hygiene assistance and supports patients with daily living activities; executes assigned treatments and procedures.
    • Monitors and records vital signs, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the supervising nurse.
    • Prepares patients for meal times and assists with feeding as required.
    • Ensures constant monitoring of patients needing heightened security to mitigate any risk of self-harm.
    • Adheres to infection control standards and prioritizes patient safety.
    • Safely assists patients in transitioning to wheelchairs or stretchers and transports them as necessary.
    • Collects required specimens as instructed, including urine, feces, and sputum.
  • Maintaining Patient Environment:
    • Contributes to a safe and sanitary environment within patient rooms.
    • Engages in maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
    • Restocks supplies as needed to ensure availability.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Accepts assignments, seeks clarification when needed, and executes tasks effectively.
    • Regularly communicates patient care observations and findings to the registered nurse.
    • Actively participates as a vital member of the nursing team, taking on additional responsibilities as necessary.
    • Enhances professional skills by attending relevant in-service training programs.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Performs related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant Program is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred.
Compensation Information
The salary range for this position is $21.57-$23.77 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for successful candidates at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments. Factors influencing salary may include location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget considerations, and internal equity.
