Job Overview

As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing essential assistance to patients in their daily activities. Your contributions will ensure a safe and comfortable environment for those in our care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
2. Provide necessary supplies and support for personal hygiene and grooming.
3. Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding when required.
4. Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patients' physical and psychological needs.
5. Accurately measure and document vital signs, including Temperature, Pulse, and Respiration (TPR), as well as other health metrics.
6. Collect specimens as needed for diagnostic purposes.
7. Communicate any changes in patient conditions or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
8. Perform specific diagnostic tests and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse, including:
    a. Applying dressings and managing intravenous therapies.
    b. Assisting with EKGs and blood sugar monitoring.
    c. Supporting the insertion of catheters and caring for pressure injuries.
9. Uphold patient safety by responding to call bells and emergency signals.
10. Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices to maintain a secure environment.
11. Assist in patient transportation and positioning as necessary.
12. Participate in emergency response drills and procedures.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course is essential.
- Heart Saver Certification is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of direct patient care experience is necessary.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is $22.30 - $24.55 per hour, reflecting a fair assessment of potential compensation based on various factors such as experience and qualifications.
