Position Summary:

As a Quality Assurance Manager at Siemens Mobility, Inc., you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. You will lead a team of QA Supervisors and Inspectors responsible for overseeing all aspects of rail car production, including welding, mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and painting. Your primary responsibilities will include establishing best practice standards, facilitating comprehensive training for the team, fostering a culture of quality, managing non-conformance reporting, and implementing competence and training systems. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining Siemens' reputation as one of the Fortune World's Most Admired Companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace, training all team members in safe work practices.
  • Develop and document best practice work standards, ensuring all team members are adequately trained for their roles.
  • Plan production operations, define workflows, and establish priorities to meet project requirements.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets and business plans.
  • Adjust manpower and equipment planning to meet production demands effectively.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain open communication with the team regarding work status, departmental performance, and process changes.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing quality processes in complex equipment assembly, welding, and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Experience in OEM capital equipment manufacturing, particularly in a schedule-driven, high-mix/low-volume environment.
  • Proficient in lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation and relationship building.
  • Excellent coaching, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a knack for resolving complex issues.
