Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our Consumer and Community Banking division at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and expertise, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and REST APIs
  • Lead the development of secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Strong development experience in (Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Web Services, Micro services, Kafka, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data technologies, experience in at least one database such as Oracle, DB2,NoSQL etc.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience with varying levels of Software Engineers in an Agile environment
