The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation and a blend of administrative, operational, and project management skills, with experience in an engineering laboratory setting and familiarity with fabrication tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the engineering team to comprehend the intended use of laboratory spaces and ensure they are configured to meet operational needs.
  • Supervise vendor activities during the installation of equipment, ensuring compliance with architectural specifications and coordination with the engineering team.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, including challenges, milestones, and upcoming tasks to both onsite team members and leadership.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient laboratory environment to support operational effectiveness.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Client products such as iCal and Keynote (or Microsoft equivalents).
  • Adaptable and flexible; able to manage a diverse range of tasks that evolve with team dynamics and organizational changes.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, risk management, and cleanliness standards in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and drawings.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and remains focused on departmental objectives.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with characterization tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and fabrication technologies.
  • Experience in laboratory maintenance, inventory management, and project oversight.

Education:

A high school diploma and relevant hands-on experience are required. A college degree or technical training is highly regarded.
