Patient Service Coordinator

Job Summary
The Patient Care Representative (PCR) is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all incoming patients at Summit Health Inc. This role involves registering patients, coordinating with the team, and responding to patient questions and concerns with kindness and urgency. The PCR is also responsible for all paperwork associated with patient registration.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Organize and coordinate patient intake and appointments
- Accurately enter and update patient information in our system
- Assist patients with completing paperwork when necessary
- Scan, update, and file medical records
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a prompt and polite manner
- Process medical insurance information and verify patient eligibility
- Handle cash and co-payments accurately and responsibly
- Provide outstanding customer service to every patient
- Inform site managers of waiting room wait times and patient inquiries
- A High School Degree or GED
- A happy, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and coworkers
- Experience working in a high-volume/high-intensity service industry preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and a team player
- Computer proficiency and superior keyboarding skills
- Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
- Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment
- Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members
- Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location
Ability to sit and stand for periods of time. Heavy computer use required.
